I have observed over time that the SPI induction test results are consistently high and that during the Q and A parts of the induction your team member are usually well informed and have good understanding of a Safety from a general viewpoint. The level of awareness is noticeable over and above some of our other contractor groups."

SPIIND supplied welding labour and engineered items for the Bascule Bridge project over the Lower Hatea River, Whangarei. At all times their staff undertook and produced quality welding for the splicing of the tubular steel piles and various other steel products. Service was always efficient and of good quality and no situation was ever a problem that could not be solved.
We would be more than happy to utilise their services on other projects and are comfortable in recommending them to others.

Refining NZ and SPIIND have enjoyed a long and successful working relationship. SPIIND have had a presence on our site since circa 1984, initially providing instrumentation contracting services which has since evolved to include electrical and mechanical contracting services. They have provided ongoing routine maintenance services and key support during turnarounds and plant shutdowns, supporting our maintenance and projects teams. In recent times their services have extended into major project contracting, working with us working toward successfully delivering our "Point Forward" expansion project. The delivery of their service has been of a high standard and is aligned with our doctrine of ensuring we all go safely home, everyday.
SPIIND are a local Northland company and like Refining NZ, have been positively influencing the region for many years being prepared to lead by example; particularly through the development of high quality tradesmen and supporting a co-operative environment for good industrial relations. SPIIND staff support and share our passion for heath, safety and the environment which is demonstrated in their performance initiatives, audit compliance and management of incidents. They have always taken a proactive approach in investigating and implementing corrective measures following incidents and near misses, this also extends into new and innovative ideas around productivity and work practices. Our current and continued success is underpinned by our partnerships with our contractors. We look forward to continuing our excellent relationship with SPIIND in the coming years. South Pacific Industrial (SPIIND) delivered value for money by providing a high quality product and service during the Point Forward Project (PFP) at Refining NZ. High productivity was maintained throughout the project even though at times, there were demanding conditions with some inherent physical constraints and tight timeframes during the tie-ins.

I would like you to thank your staff for the effort they put in during the recent shutdown. All work went to plan and the press started up on time and got up to speed within the 1st hour of production.
This is a great reflection on SPIIND and your staff.
Too often we criticise but never thank people for good work. In this case thanks and congratulations are definitely in order and well deserved,
Once again a great job done within critical time frames.
